Eshratabad Palace
Eshratabad Palace was built by Naser al-Din Shah between the Qajar palace and the Negarestan Garden. This four-story palace was mostly used for holding wedding ceremonies and celebrations. The most interesting part of the palace is a large pool surrounded by small houses. Naser al-Din Shah gifted each of these houses to one of his wives to live in.
After the revolution, the Air Force of the Revolutionary Guard took control of the palace and renamed it Vali Asr Barracks. When the Sayyad Shirazi highway was constructed beside the palace, part of the barracks was taken, and Eshratabad Palace was no longer under the control of the Revolutionary Guard. In 2006, the Tehran Municipality, the Revolutionary Guard, and the Cultural Heritage Organization signed a document to restore the palace and open it as a museum for the public.
