The Safavid era was the most prosperous period for the construction and renovation of caravanserais. Shah Abbas I decided to reopen the Silk Road and considered the revival of caravanserais as one of the necessities of this work. Researchers attribute the fame of most caravanserais to the Shah Abbasi caravanserai. Aminabad Caravanserai, considered one of the tourist attractions of Shahreza, is one of the most important remaining works from this period in Isfahan province.
