Shoughat Church of Tabriz, located in the Armenian cemetery of Tabriz, was built in memory of Shoughat, the mother of Simon Manouchehrian, a famous Armenian merchant and leather factory manager. Shoughat was also the name of a Christian holy nun. The church's design is basilica style and includes four main columns dividing the central space, with the entrance on the west side, opposite the altar. Two side rooms were designed for funeral and mourning ceremonies. In the church cemetery, prominent Armenian figures including the grand caliph of the Armenians and religious missionaries are buried.
