Mary Mother Church is one of the religious sites in Tabriz, located on the former site of the Armenian Baghi cemetery and was built during the Qajar era. This church is situated near the Russian Garden, which now belongs to the Russian Federation. Mary Mother Church is one of the well-known places in the center of Maralan, Tabriz. On Sundays and special ceremonies, Armenians come to this place and after visiting the church, return to the Baron Avak neighborhood. Before the construction of Soraya Street in 1955, two side alleys, one leading to Ghyath Square and Mary Mother Church and the other to Chaharsuq Square, connected this neighborhood to the city center.
