One of the tourist attractions in Mashhad, located in the Armenian district of the city, is the Holy Mesrop Church. This church was built in the late Pahlavi II era, in the year 1320 in the Iranian calendar, on Janbazan Street in the city. This beautiful church was very active until the early 1970s and many ceremonies were held there; however, after the revolution, the number of Armenians in Mashhad decreased and the church's activities also declined. Mesrop Church includes various sections such as a school, library, and administrative building, and today it is managed by the Council of the Tehran and Mashhad Diocese.
In 2005, the Holy Mesrop Church was registered as one of Mashhad's tourist attractions on Iran's national heritage list, and tourists can visit this church completely free of charge during office hours. The architecture of this church is very simple and does not have many decorations. The only decoration used is white tiles with green patterns in the main hall. Mesrop Church has two conical brick domes that hold two iron crosses on top. Also, the place has three doors, but today you can only enter through one door.
