If you want to get to know the religious attractions of Varamin city, we must introduce you to Imamzadeh Jafar. On the inscription carved on the door of the wooden lattice enclosing Imamzadeh Jafar's shrine, the name Imamzadeh Jafar Hawazi, son of the seventh Imam, is written. Imamzadeh Jafar, who was called Javadi and whose children were called Javariun or Shajariun, grew up and was raised alongside his brother, Imam Reza (peace be upon him). The building of this Imamzadeh was constructed during the reign of Tahmasp Safavi. The dome of this building is considered one of the valuable works of religious architecture in Iran. This dome is 21 meters high and about 6 meters in diameter. The dome of Imamzadeh Jafar is built in two layers, with a seven-meter empty space between these two layers. Eight windows are installed on this dome, four of which are decorated with stained glass. Over time, during the reign of various rulers up to today, multiple sections have been added to the sacred shrine of Imamzadeh Jafar to reach its current grandeur and magnificence.
