Description

When you reach the building of Imamzadeh Seventeen Bodies, you become mesmerized by its turquoise dome that stretches to the sky. The octagonal shape of the shrine and the interesting tile work give the building a special beauty. Also, the wooden entrance door is carved with Quranic verses and floral patterns shaped like windows. This carving is considered a masterpiece. The wood carving is the delicate art of Master Abdolhossein (father of Master Ali Agha Moazami). The inscriptions inside the shrine are written in the script of Ghiyas al-Din Ali Johari Shirazi. It is an architectural work from the Safavid era. The Imamzadeh dates back to the 11th century AH. This precious historical building was constructed by order of Sardar Emamqoli Khan during the reign of Shah Abbas I of the Safavid dynasty.

Imamzadeh Seventeen Bodies is registered in the list of Iran's national heritage sites.
