The Sheikh Abunajm Khonj mausoleum is an Islamic era building (8th century). This structure is built with rubble stone and gypsum mortar. The presence of this mausoleum has also given special significance to the Khonj Grand Mosque and its famous portal. The Sheikh Abunajm Khonj mausoleum is located in the Haj Sheikh Mohammad Abunajm neighborhood. The transformation of the square plan into a circle and then a dome by means of an elephant foot is one of the features of this building. This monument was registered on 23/01/1378 (Iranian calendar) with number 2317 in the national heritage list. You can also visit the historic Sheikh Abunajm bath nearby.
