Description

The historic Arg-e Morcheh Khort is the largest residential citadel in the country after Arg-e Bam and features unique architectural and urban planning characteristics. This citadel is a large adobe fortress with tall towers and walls, located 50 kilometers north of Isfahan, in the heart of the village of Morcheh Khort, covering an area of about 15,000 square meters. This fortress, considered one of the sights of Shahin Shahr, has 3 gates and 8 defensive towers, with loopholes and arrow slits created in the upper parts of the walls.
