Bavand Tower is another sightseeing spot in Savadkuh whose history dates back to the Sassanid era. This tower is designed like a rook piece in chess and played an important role in the region's watchkeeping.
“Watchtower” and “Dome Tower” are two other names for this tower. The octagonal plan of Bavand Tower and its architecture have attracted tourists' attention. You might find it interesting to know that this tower was heavily damaged in the 1957 earthquake; however, Professor Shirin Bavand made every effort to restore the tower and succeeded.
