Description

Black and White Tower

The Black and White Tower is one of the historical monuments of Bandar Jask, dating back to the late Qajar era. This tower, located near the sea, was part of the British facilities in southern Iran. The tower is solid and about 9 meters high.

The name of this tower comes from its color combination, painted in six alternating black and white sections. This special painting not only gives the tower a distinctive appearance but also served as a guide for sailors; during the day, ships recognized their position on the coast of Jask by seeing the black color, and at night by the reflection of light on the white color.

The Black and White Tower was registered in the list of national monuments of Iran in 2002 and has been restored in recent years by the Ports and Maritime Organization.
