The shrine of Imamzadeh Ahmad ibn Musa Kazim (peace be upon him) Mirshahid

History and Attribution of the Shrine

According to local beliefs and some historical sources, Sayyid Ahmad (known as Mir Shahid) was a descendant of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (a.s.) and brother of Imam Reza (a.s.), who came to Gilan during the migration of the Alawites to Iran and was martyred in this region.

Some sources have debated this attribution and suggested that the shrine may belong to one of the Hosseini Sayyids who lived in Gilan in later periods.

The shrine dates back to the Safavid era, but it probably existed in a simpler form before that.
