Azadegan Park; History and nature side by side
Azadegan Park is one of the recreational places in Tehran and is located on land previously known as Soleymaniyeh, which included agricultural lands and a historic mansion (Amir Soleimani Mansion).
This park was established in 2005 on land that was transferred to Tehran Municipality after the revolution. The historic Amir Soleimani Mansion, about 90 years old, has now been converted into a two-story library with an area of 850 square meters.
Azadegan Park, with more than 90 species of trees and shrubs and 400 species of bushes, displays significant plant diversity. Species such as eucalyptus, pine, mulberry, poplar, hawthorn, willow, olive, Tabrizi, walnut, waghliya, boxwood, syed al-ashjar, palm, poplar, oak, and catalpa can be seen in this park.
