This historical attraction located in East Azerbaijan Province was built by Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi and dates back to the Ilkhanate period. The story of building this attraction is that after the Mongol invasion of Iran and the loss of many historical relics, Hulagu Khan was influenced by the knowledge and science of Khajeh Nasir and granted him permission to build this valuable structure. Constructing this observatory was very difficult and took about 15 years. Gradually, after the end of Sultan Muhammad Khodabandeh's reign, this observatory was forgotten. This valuable observatory is located west of Maragheh.
