The Kolāh Farangi Mansion in Bandar Abbas is located in the central part of the city and was formerly the customs house and the place of domestic and foreign trade. The history of this historic building dates back to the Safavid era. The Kolāh Farangi Mansion includes a ground floor for storing goods, a second floor for administrative offices and residence, and two large courtyards in the northwest with multiple water reservoirs. On top of the second floor, there was an octagonal wooden structure with a conical dome in the middle. The mentioned dome resembled a hat that Europeans, i.e., Farangis, wore at that time. For this reason, that part of the building became known as Kolāh Farangi, and gradually the name Kolāh Farangi was applied to the entire mansion. This site was registered as one of the tourist attractions of Bandar Abbas in 2005, with the number 13835 in the list of national heritage of Iran.
