Hasel Marsh in Chalus, near the villages of Sinava and Talaju, is located in the famous forest «Meshel Mozi» or «Fin» or «Mohammadabad». Hasel covers less than one hectare and is more than 15 meters deep; however, in summer, some of the water in this marsh evaporates and its depth decreases.
An interesting point about Hasel Marsh is that its water bubbles up from the bottom and no river flows into it; in fact, there is a spring under one of the trees downstream of the lagoon which is considered the water source of Hasel Marsh.
The attraction of the marsh is its colorful algae. On the surface of Hasel Marsh, there is almost half a centimeter of algae; with the change of seasons, these algae also change color and turn green, orange, red, and pink. Hasel is one of the few marshes whose surface algae colors change throughout the year.
