Zahhak Castle, Shahrud, Tabriz

Zahhak Castle is one of the historical attractions of East Azerbaijan Province, located in Hashtrud County. The legends about this castle have interesting stories. The story goes that this castle was the seat of Zahhak's rule (the tyrant king in Shahnameh), and according to many, Kaveh the Blacksmith was also from Hashtrud County.
